Junior Systems Engineer

Job Description

  • Elicit, define and monitor system requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop system architecture, including system functions, modes, interfaces and operational concepts.
  • Define mission operations concepts, procedures and constraints.
  • Perform mission and orbit analysis to support power, link, mass and operational budgets.
  • Support subsystem design across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Support Assembly, Integration, Verification and Testing (AIVT) activities, including environmental qualification campaigns.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including design documents, interface documents, test plans and reports.
  • Support risk identification, issue tracking and technical decision-making across the project lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS (Licenciatura) in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
  • Awareness of systems engineering practices and methodologies, including requirements management, interface control and verification and validation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Organized and methodical, with a structured approach to planning and documentation.
  • Comfortable working within technical standards and regulatory frameworks, such as ECSS, ESA/NASA requirements or space law.
  • Able to critically assess results and identify inconsistencies across requirements, interfaces and test outcomes.
  • Clear and precise communicator, able to convey technical information across disciplines and to external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to coordinate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and autonomous, able to flag risks and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools, such as Capella.
  • Experience with orbital analysis tools, such as NASA GMAT.
  • Programming skills in Python and/or C/C++.
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards or similar space engineering frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CubeSat platforms, space-grade components or environmental qualification processes.
