TIR1 is a small thermal infrared camera (8-12μm) developed at Spin.Works for Earth Observation, and capable of a ground resolution of 70m/pixel at 500km altitude.
The camera can identify small temperature changes (0.05K) in the Earth’s surface associated to hot spots (such as those produced by wildfires) through 120fps video imaging, enabling early detection if used within an EO constellation.
Because the underlying sensor does not need a dedicated Thermo-Electric Cooler, it is easy to integrate this miniaturized camera in any platform.
